Phyllis and I decided that if we were going to any of the
festival events, we better do it Friday evening.
So we made it to 3 of them, all in St. Vital/St. Boniface.
Warsaw Poland Pavilion
Glenwood C.C. - St. Vital

The hostess, Andrea, asked the crowd, if anyone was visiting from
out of Canada.
This fellow hails from Hawaii, and was asked to come up and participate in some
instructional demos.
He did a couple of "ax moves" and a (cheating) "jump over your
hat move".

Russian Pavilion
Indo Canadian Arts and Cultural Centre - St. Vital

This location was an old A & P, when I was a kid, and was the home of
Springs Church for a while,
and was even considered as new home for the St. Vital Legion, Branch No. 16.
Tango was introduced as traditional dance of Russia,
and who is giving the demo, but Wesley Giesbrecht and partner.

This couple from Los Angeles was called "Russian
Souvenir"

Ambassadors & Hosts

Valerie Slemzinim, a Las Vegas clown, was very funny.
LIMPOPO, from Los Angeles, was excellent, and very humourous,

Very Talented Professional Musicians and Dancers.

Russian Souvenir

Keyboard and Saxaphonist

I am unclear whether these children were part of the "dance
troope".

Ambassadors & Hosts

Brazilian Warriors

A legacy of Brazil's four centuries of slavery, "capoeira"
is a "fighting dance",
that has mellowed into playful, stylized combat.
